No cards in /proc/asound/cards?

Comment 2 Olaf Hering 2005-08-18 11:04:36 UTC

Try to unmute volumes (or run "set_default_volume -f")
Comment 4 Olaf Hering 2005-08-18 13:00:08 UTC
this does not work.

sound works ok with dmasound_pmac. but snd_powermac doesnt work.
Comment 5 Takashi Iwai 2005-08-18 13:05:25 UTC
Specify "doesnt work" :)

Of course, the driver might be broken, but might be another reason...
Comment 6 Olaf Hering 2005-08-18 13:10:06 UTC
no sound output. sound worked ok on an ibook with burgundy I think
Comment 7 Olaf Hering 2005-08-18 13:11:53 UTC
0 [Screamer ]: PMac Screamer - PowerMac Screamer
                     PowerMac Screamer Rev 0

this one works ok, on nectarine.
Comment 8 Olaf Hering 2005-08-23 16:29:19 UTC
tumbler used to work with 2.6.10 I think, its already broken with 2.6.13rc3 on
my ibook.
will try older kernels tomorrow.
Comment 9 Olaf Hering 2005-08-24 12:21:47 UTC
2.6.12 is already broken it seems.
Comment 10 Olaf Hering 2005-08-24 12:48:31 UTC
worked in 2.6.11
Comment 11 Takashi Iwai 2005-08-24 13:19:07 UTC
2.6.12 includes Ben's fixes. This is likely the one broke (a certain) tumbler
machines.
Comment 12 Olaf Hering 2005-08-24 13:20:37 UTC
rc2 worked, rc4 not. trying rc3.
Comment 13 Takashi Iwai 2005-08-24 13:24:11 UTC
BTW, what is the mixer status? Please attach /etc/asound.state.
Some new mixer elements were added to the recent version...
Comment 14 Olaf Hering 2005-08-24 13:37:43 UTC
rc3 is already broken, rc2 was ok.
Comment 16 Takashi Iwai 2005-08-29 09:49:23 UTC
OK you already added the patch to our kernel :)
