Description Lenz Grimmer 2005-08-18 15:02:18 UTC
I connected my Samsung SyncMaster 920T to my desktop machine using a Matrox G450
to perform a fresh installation of 10.0b2. The resolution during the
installation was correct, it used 1280x1024. During the hardware configuration
stage, the proposed resolution for Xorg was correct, only the monitor was
detected as a "Samsung SyncMaster 4S" again (see my separate BUG#104640 report
for another occasion). I just checked 3D acceleration and continued. However,
the X server then started in a lower resolution (800x600) and the display was
only partially visible. Could it be that the X server ignores the DDC values?

Xorg config and logs

This tarball includes some (hopefully) relevant files I gathered after the
installation

/etc/X11/xorg.conf
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.install
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.md5
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.saxsave
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old

The CDB entry for the Samsung SyncMaster 4S seems to be invalid
