Description Jiri Dluhos 2005-08-18 15:17:41 UTC
When adding a large set of RPMs as a source repository, the process of adding
can last very long time; I presume the packages need to be somehow analyzed or
indexed.

It would be nice to have a message saying something like "this operation can
take very long time according to the size of the repository" to the "Adding
installation source" window. A progress bar, if possible, would be even nicer.

Of course, it would be the best if the adding could be faster, but that probably
won't be easy :-)

indeed i seen lots of people thinking yast was frozen in those case, even more if the user got a 56k modem. Adding a Message of the kind "downloading metada, depending on connection speed this could take a while, please wait" (possible to also query the file size on protocol that support it and show a progress bar ?) would be cool.

As we now have a new package manager GUI which shows progress bars, I think we can consider this bug fixed.
