Description Tristan Miller 2017-08-31 20:50:16 UTC
Searching the software portal for "ack" fails to return the package ack <https://software.opensuse.org/package/ack>. Instead, it returns hackrf, ntrack, vim-hack, devstack, and dozens of other packages that happen to have the three characters "ack" somewhere in their names.

The search function should give priority to exact matches over substring matches! And even for substring matches, priority should be given to matches at the start of the string.

This is automated batch bugzilla cleanup.

The bug you reported was opened against old software.opensuse.org before
it was redesigned in 2018.

As it was pretty comprehensive rewrite there is high probablity your
ticket is no longer relevant.

Please if you still reproduce this issue on current site open a new ticket
to get it resolved.

Thank you for understanding and sorry for not fixing your issue in timely
manner.

I'm not sure what the point is in creating new bugs instead of reopening existing ones, but here you go: Bug 1090276
