Bugzilla – Bug 105754
daca sound card not configured correctly
Last modified: 2008-07-16 15:47:15 UTC
the ibook DACA sound is found and proposed during fresh installation. But when entering the "Configure sound" window, no cards are offerred to edit. Have to add one manually. Choosing ibook leaves me with 2 sound cards afterwards.

Ladislav, any clue?
I have no idea, it's strange. My test system (i386) behaves correctly. According to log sound card list is empty after starting the sound module. More debugging will be probably needed.
should I bring it into the office, or can I make yast more verbose without filling the disk?
this still happens with rc4.
I pass this to Ladislav since it looks like a yast bug. If it turned out to be a driver bug, please give it back to me.
Olaf, could you check whether the bug is still present in Alpha4? If yes then attach hwinfo --sound output please.
will test with sles10 beta1
the beta did not even boot, still looking how to test it.
2.6.16 kernels show memory corruption, have to fix that fist before I can finish a install.
it still shows the card in the main screen, but if I want to configure it, the sound screen is empty. will provide beta7 logs.
logs are in bug #158543 initally daca was shown, then I tried to configure it, and the list of devices was empty.
this did not work in 10.2b1+ either
Olaf, could you please test 10.3Alpha? If it still happens I'd like to debug it...
The 10.3a0+ install is currently running on mango.suse.de
Thanks, yast ignored a card which was not in the yast sound card DB. Now it uses the driver provided by hwinfo in such case. Fixed in yast2-sound-2.15.3
