Description Olaf Hering 2005-08-19 06:42:25 UTC
the ibook DACA sound is found and proposed during fresh installation. But when
entering the "Configure sound" window, no cards are offerred to edit. Have to
add one manually. Choosing ibook leaves me with 2 sound cards afterwards.

Ladislav, any clue?
Comment 3 Ladislav Slezák 2005-08-19 13:02:06 UTC
I have no idea, it's strange. My test system (i386) behaves correctly.

According to log sound card list is empty after starting the sound module. More
debugging will be probably needed.
Comment 4 Olaf Hering 2005-08-20 12:44:50 UTC
should I bring it into the office, or can I make yast more verbose without
filling the disk?
Comment 5 Olaf Hering 2005-09-19 13:20:00 UTC
this still happens with rc4.
Comment 6 Takashi Iwai 2005-09-23 09:14:23 UTC
I pass this to Ladislav since it looks like a yast bug.
If it turned out to be a driver bug, please give it back to me.
Comment 7 Ladislav Slezák 2006-01-04 13:18:25 UTC
Olaf, could you check whether the bug is still present in Alpha4?

If yes then attach hwinfo --sound output please.
Comment 8 Olaf Hering 2006-01-17 20:20:26 UTC
will test with sles10 beta1
Comment 9 Olaf Hering 2006-02-02 16:34:16 UTC
the beta did not even boot, still looking how to test it.
Comment 10 Olaf Hering 2006-03-04 20:59:22 UTC
2.6.16 kernels show memory corruption, have to fix that fist before I can finish a install.
Comment 11 Olaf Hering 2006-03-13 08:45:59 UTC
it still shows the card in the main screen, but if I want to configure it, the sound screen is empty.
will provide beta7 logs.
Comment 12 Olaf Hering 2006-03-16 08:16:00 UTC
logs are in bug #158543
initally daca was shown, then I tried to configure it, and the list of devices was empty.
Comment 13 Olaf Hering 2006-11-10 16:20:19 UTC
this did not work in 10.2b1+ either
Comment 14 Ladislav Slezák 2007-02-08 14:11:18 UTC
Olaf, could you please test 10.3Alpha? If it still happens I'd like to debug it...
Comment 15 Olaf Hering 2007-02-12 09:48:15 UTC
The 10.3a0+ install is currently running on mango.suse.de
Comment 16 Ladislav Slezák 2007-02-12 15:21:26 UTC
Thanks, yast ignored a card which was not in the yast sound card DB. Now it uses the driver provided by hwinfo in such case.

Fixed in yast2-sound-2.15.3
