Bugzilla – Bug 105931
Choosing proxy for HTTP or FTP installation not possible except by error.
Last modified: 2008-06-25 09:52:22 UTC
I have looked over the boot installation screen several times and nowhere is it mentioned how you set a proxy for HTTP or FTP installations. If you choose one of these installationtypes you are not prompted for proxy settings and the help has no information about proxies, BUT!: If you make a mistake in your URL you will enter linuxrc where you *can* setup proxies for installation. I would really like one of a couple of solutions: 1) Proxy server and proxy port directly at the nice graphical installation screen 2) En entry in the help about how to setup a proxy, say: proxy=http://some-ip:3128? I do hope it is possible to select proxy settings already at ISOLINUX in one way or another... On a related note, the help says to press F3 for installation options but in SL10 it is now F4.
Regarding 'F4'. Strictly speaking, you have to press F3 and *then* F4 with the new two-layered option setup....
No YaST2 but linuxrc issue.
proxy=server proxyport=3128 And yes, help texts still have to be changed.
F-key are labelled correctly now. Proxy setup for next release (bug 112851 is related).
Cool. Thank you.
not for 10.1
mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)
Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED. In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
