Unable to find the text "Scheme optimized for good..." in translatable po files.
Should this be resourced?
There are similiar strings that are resourced "Scheme optimized to let maximum
power savings take place" - this is in the kpowersave component.
Comment 10 Jiri Srain 2005-08-26 09:43:21 UTC
The help text is incomplete translation (no problem on the YaST side), czech
translation from CVS/SVN is correct.

Thomas, were the texts inside the powersave package sent for translations?
Comment 11 Jonathan Fisher 2005-08-30 08:21:31 UTC
Also occurs in Brazillian Portuguese Beta 3 050826
Comment 12 Thomas Renninger 2005-08-31 10:46:11 UTC
To be honest I have no idea anymore where and how the tranlations are used.
Danny, you updated the translations, can you have a look at this, please.
Comment 13 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-08-31 11:22:53 UTC
Thoma: I did not updated the translation files for powersave. I made this only
for KPowersave!
Comment 14 Thomas Renninger 2005-09-01 10:23:31 UTC
Didn't we discuss this whole thing some months ago and came to the conclusion
that kpowersave and Yast should share the translations from the powersave
package as it is required anyway and we then have to maintain only one
tranlation source?

Is it right then, that currently Yast uses tranlations from the powersave
package and kpowersave doesn't make use of them at all and has it's own?

Danny: Most strings should still be the same for Yast and Kpowersave, is there a
way to merge them and at least get a lot things translated before sending the
stuff to translaters?

Danny: Could you please also take care that the powersave package translation
gets into this new svn translation reporsitory, you are much more used to all
this translation stuff and time is running out ...

Any suggestions for fast and long-term solutions are welcome. Currently it's a
mess and workload is doubled by several translation repositories.

For my opinion kpowersave should also make use of the translations from the
powersave package (-> Cons: translations depend on powersave package, but
kpowersave depends on powersave anyway, so it shouldn't matter).

If not, the Yast translations should be moved back to the yast-powermanagement
package and maintained seperately (-> Cons: double work, double risk of
forgetting translations as we have it now...).

CC'ing behlert as we need a fast 10.0 solution.
Comment 15 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-09-01 11:27:12 UTC
As just discussed: If the translation file of powersave where in the SVN for
translation all has worked perfectly. We had could tell the localisation team,
that they (powersave/yast/kpowersave) must be translated together and all should
work perfectly (also with the 4 or 10 shared stings between kpowersave and
powersave).

As discussed we can't share the files directly because of updates of kpowersave
without a update of yast or/and powersave.

If Jiri send me the updated translation files (merged old po files with pot
files) I can checkin them to the SVN.
Comment 16 Thomas Renninger 2005-09-01 11:33:12 UTC
Ok, so this was my fault, I thought we have one big translation source.
Jiri: Could you send us up to date po/pot files for Danny, please?
Hopefully we still get some languages translated.
Comment 17 Jiri Srain 2005-09-05 14:18:45 UTC
Thomas, the texts are inside the powersave package. I call gettext to get them
from your file. I don't have the default scheme names or descriptions in the
code anywhere. Sorry, but cannot help you here...

You should somehow generate the pot-file from the powersave package.
Comment 18 Thomas Renninger 2005-10-16 14:32:22 UTC
Discussed with Danny... could you please add the powersave files to the subversion translation tree or close this one if already done.
Comment 19 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-17 19:32:19 UTC
added the pot-file to SVN for translation.

I close not the bug. I reassign this to Thomas and change this to 10.1. You should close the bug first if there are new translations integrated in the packages.
Comment 20 Thomas Renninger 2005-10-24 07:27:31 UTC
Waiting for translations to be added...

Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED.

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
