Untranslated text in drop down menus in Local Secuirty Option SUSE10 Beta2 Steps: 1. Click Start/System/YaST to launch YaST Control Center 2. Click the "Security and Users" option in the left navigational panel. 3. Select Local Security 4. Click Home Workstation radio button and then the Details button. 5. Click Next 4 times. Expected Result: No untranslated text in drop down menus. Actual Result: Untranslated text in both drop down menus.

Drop down contains the options "Easy", "Secure" and "Paranoid" Also found that this appears in French SUSE 9.3 Should this be resourced?

The text is included in the YaST file security.po delivered in the first translation round. Feel free to fix it as applicable in the second translation round.

Reassigning to yast2-maintainers@suse.de as string is coming from src/widgets.ycp:235 and not src/widgets.ycp:148 -security.xx.po String will need to be resourced

I guess "nobody" is the user name coming from /etc/passwd . I'd say it is okay to use those user names literally. If I'm wrong, please re-open and provide a new POT.

Concerning "Easy", "Secure", and "Paranoid" see comment bug 106684#c7 ; Inés checked it and found these strings already translated.
What is this bug about? Is it about translating the values for File Permissions ("Easy", "Secure", and "Paranoid")? This is the problem of translators, so why are you assigning it back to yast2-maintainer? If the problem is of "nobody"/"root" translation: these are traditional names of system users, which doesn't have sense to translate.
Not sure, but I read it as follows: "Easy", "Secure", and "Paranoid" is translated, but YaST does not show the translations. In French: # TLABEL security_2002_01_04_0147__63 #. On my beta4, it is translated in both czech and german, but not translated in french. I'm not sure where to find the most actual translations, however if I look at ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/noarch/i18n/yast/y2-fr.tar.gz, those strings are _NOT_ translated into french.
Thanks for your close checking. Translations were add to /mounts/work/SRC/noarch/yast2-trans-fr last Friday or earlier. Fix on RC1.

"Simple" is the translated text included in the French file security.po. The other two options are also translated: Sécurisé and Paranoïa. My French is quite bad but I suspect "Simple" is French for "Easy". Could you please confirm it with the translator?

Not an Issue, "Simple" is the correct French translation for "Easy". Please close.

Good catch - it is untranslated (security.zh_TW.po): #. ComboBox value #: src/widgets.ycp:226 msgid "Paranoid" msgstr "Paranoid" But in the help text the button text (within <b>...</b>) is translated.
Fixed in Italian build RC1 050909.
Below is the translators comments, probably need to revert the help text between <b>...</b> in security.zh_TW.po at line 529. "This word was kept in English in Doc Translation Memory. We havn't encountered this word during doc translation of this version. There is no context in this file either. So I think it's better to keep it in English."
Deferred for 10.1 GMC - Changing Product to 10.1. We will add the fix post-ship to trunk so that it will appear in the next version or in any YOU updates
