SL10_LOC-Linux-zh_CN-Beta2 050819 - Yast: Powertweak does not launch from System options
Last modified: 2005-09-05 09:35:28 UTC
Detailed description: Yast: Powertweak does not launch from System options Configuration: SUSE 10 Build: Beta2 050819 Steps to reproduce: 1. Click Start/System/YaST to launch YaST Control Center 2. Click the "System" option in the left navigational panel. 3. Select "Powertweak" 4. Click Yes to install Powertweak Expected Result: On US, after CD prompt install is successful and warning messages appear stating that configuration file cannot be created. Continues to /etc/sysconfig Editor Actual Result: On Simplified Chinese system two error messages appear and dialog quits back to Yast menu without prompting for install CD Attachments: Simplified Chinese and US screens attached

Yast2-Team: This bug contains both an error (see #4) and a localization issue in chinese. PLease investigate...
This problem also occurs throughout Yast where packages need to be installed, e.g. in Yast Network Services - TFTP Server and HTTP Server, after clicking "Continue" to install a particular package. Instead of a prompt for a CD as per US, error messages appear and dialog quits back to Yast main screen
There are more problems in this bug report, each with another resolution: 1. "/etc/sysconfig Editor" label for Powertweak is FIXED (yast2-powertweak-2.12.2) 2. Crashing powertweak is probably DUPLICATE of bug #105273 (uninstall (or don't install) powertweak-extra, then it should work) 3. I cannot reproduce a bug about TFP server configuration. The required packages are installed correctly (WORKSFORME). If it still happens in the latest beta then reopen and attach y2logs, please.
Closing as Fixed for Simplified Chinese, Beta4 050901
