login with xfce
click on speaker symbol in taskbar, mixer window opens
drag volume using green bar right to the speaker symbol

Problem: the volume does not change in the mixer window

Hmm, after a reboot, the two sliders are connected. But after some people logged
in and out, it gets broken. Maybe some leftover processes?

However hard I try to reproduce this, I can't :(
