VUL-1: CVE-2018-20126: kvm, qemu: memory leakage due to non free memory objects in qemu implementation can lead to DOS
Last modified: 2023-07-25 17:32:21 UTC
CVE-2018-20126 A memory leakage issue was found in QEMU's implementation of VMWare's paravirtual RDMA device. It could occur while creating CQ/QP ring objects in create_cq/qp() routines, as it did not free ring objects' memory in case of an error. A guest user/process could use this flaw to leak host memory resulting in DoS. Upstream patch: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2018-12/msg02824.html References: http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2018-20126 http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2018/q4/266 https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2018-12/msg02824.html
Fix included in qemu about to be checked in for openSUSE:Factory and SLE15-SP1. No other qemu's we deliver are affected.
