Description Luiz Mauricio Barcelos da Silva 2005-08-26 01:57:06 UTC
I've installed Suse 10.0 Beta2, and using Samba Server, migrated files from
Brazilian-Portuguese Windows XP to Samba. Files with special characters are not
available to other workstations.
LANG=POSIX
dos charset = CP850
unix charset = UTF-8
display charset = LOCALE

Tks.

This is not a blocker - and not a usability issue. Assigning to samba maintainer.
Comment 2 Luiz Mauricio Barcelos da Silva 2005-08-26 13:45:14 UTC
using the same smb.conf in SuSe 9.3 everything works fine
Comment 4 Bjørn Lie 2011-04-28 16:04:56 UTC
Hi reporter and assingnee - since I'm not a sambauser nor do I have any files to migrate from xp to samba that has special characters, I have no way of verifying if the bug is fixed or not.

Can we close this bug as norespone/wontfix? Suse Linux 10.0 is out of maintanace for many years.

/bug updated in an effort to clean out old bitrotten bugs.
Comment 5 Lars Müller 2011-05-03 16:35:27 UTC
@Luiz: please reopen if you still see this issue with a current openSUSE version or with packages from the network:samba:STABLE project of the openSUSE Build Service.
