Red Carpet UI not working, bailing out on PyGTK errors
Last modified: 2005-09-02 16:09:01 UTC
Red Carpet's UI is not working (rcd and rug do work, it's only the UI) - see attached log/backtrace. SUSE 10.0-beta3, x86 (Pentium 4m) red-carpet-2.4.4-12 libredcarpet-2.4.8-2 libredcarpet-python-2.4.8-2 python-gnome-2.11.3-3 python-gtk-2.7.1-5 gtk2-2.8.0-3
Created attachment 47804 [details] error log + backtrace from red-carpet
In my case, it searches for /opt/kde3/bin/kdesu, displays that it is not there and exits. I am raising its priority since the GUI is important to be fixed.
I am experiencing this on Beta 3.
tambet please have a look

Is it possible to upgrade python-gtk? I have the latest (2.7.3) and it works fine (again). 2.7.0 and 2.7.1 are the two releases which are incompatible with red-carpet.
uh. aj?
I don't have diffs, but from the NEWS file: pygtk-2.7.2 02-august-2005 - Subclass/type registration bug fixes (Gustavo) - Allow gobject to be initialized twice (Yevgen Muntyan)
Henne, could you do an update of python-gtk and check that the following apps still basically work: BitTorrent, inkscape, red-carpet, dia. If your basic test is ok, the python-gtk update is approved if it's done today.
im on it
Package will not get delivered sorry...
