Description Jon Nelson 2005-08-27 17:27:12 UTC
If the environment variable TMPDIR is set to something other than /tmp, all
other KDE programs appear to worker correctly but arts does not.

My TMPDIR is set to $HOME/tmp
Everything seems to work fine (and has for years, KDE 3.4.2?? made this change)
but arts has stopped working:

jon@linux:~/wolfenstein> artsshell
Error: "/home/jon/.kde/socket-linux" points to "/home/jon/tmp/ksocket-jon"
instead of "/tmp/ksocket-jon".

Link points to "/home/jon/tmp/ksocket-jon"
Error: "/home/jon/.kde/socket-linux" points to "/home/jon/tmp/ksocket-jon"
instead of "/tmp/ksocket-jon".

(The previous message was repeated 1 times.)
can't create mcop directory
jon@linux:~/wolfenstein> cd
jon@linux:~>

IMO this is a serious issue.
