Description Robert Boehm 2005-08-28 00:49:06 UTC
Linksys WUSB12 wireless lan:

WEP encryption does not work. Worked in Beta 2 with no special problems. Beta
three comes with ipup command "couldn't set encryption key" "aborted"...
I had no trouble with beta 2 where there was supposed to be a problem (no
modifications)...and in beta 3 where it's supposed to be fixed I have the problem.
I tried entering PREFER_WPA_SUPPLICANT='no' into the config file to no avail.

Wireless works fine without encription.

Ok, seems you got an Atmel device. There was a bug in ifup-wireless preventing
the device from working with WEP. I'll attach a newer version of
ifup-wireless, please install and test it again.

Joechim....new script works like a charm. I installed it and the wlan0 came
right up...so that was the problem and it is resolved. I hope that they correct
script gets into beta 4...funny that I had no trouble with the OLDER beta 2 but
the problem cropped up for me in beta 3. But that was it for sure...

I don't know if I have the authority to close this bug out, so can you do that?

Thanks

No problem. :) And yes, the new script will be in beta4.
