Description Fernando Dal Moro 2005-08-28 05:56:37 UTC
There is an MS MMC called Remote Desktops that is very useful and it would be
nice to see something similar in Suse.

Basically you can setup a list of remote desktops on the left. Click on each
configured rd and have the window come up on the right.

Thaks for the request.
On the 9.3 we have remote access via VNC and within KDE K-Menu/System/Remote
Access your can invite other users. Perhaps it's less usable than the MS
application, but we are working on it ;-) I will have a look onto the status
one the 10.0

Can you provide one or more screenshots from the MS-System MMC, please?

Adding a new connection

You can add as many of these as you want. When you click on any one of the
connections in the list it starts connecting. Also what I like to do is add
serveral Remote Desktop MMCs in one list and seperate different category
servers that I can connect to by what remote desktop mmc I put them in.

Enter in connection information and options

A couple of tabs I didn't have a chance to get the other tabs but Screen
options tab sets up the way you want the window on the right to display. Either
to fill the Window, a 600x800- etc pull down or third button for custom Width
Height. The Other tab is to start a program when connected and checkmark to
redirect local drives to remote computer when connected.

Connection made and ready to log into remote desktop

It's great when you have a couple of connections made and signed in. Just click
on the name of the connection on the left and the screen changes on the right
to that connection without the need of having several programs open.
