Bugzilla – Bug 113644
Minor stuffs for KPowerSave after your call for testing
Last modified: 2007-06-05 11:04:30 UTC
Hi, I've tried KPowerSave. It works perfectly when I plug or unplug the AC adaptater. The icon is very responsive. The battery level is correctly displayed. Minors bugs are : - When I unplug the AC adaptater, the icon tell me there is about 12 or 13 hours remaining (quite nice for a Centrino ;o)). The icon is correcly updated to about 2 hours and a half remaining after about 10 or 20 seconds. It is the same in SuSE 9.3 I think - The tooltip doesn't give the CPU frequency as it was the case on SuSE 9.3

Please attach output of 'cat / proc/acpi/battery/*/*' directly after unplug the adapter.
Here it is : alarm: unsupported present: yes design capacity: 65120 mWh last full capacity: 59200 mWh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 14800 mV design capacity warning: 5934 mWh design capacity low: 0 mWh capacity granularity 1: 592 mWh capacity granularity 2: 592 mWh model number: LI4403A serial number: W810 battery type: 4C 69 00 00 00 OEM info: ARIMA present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 4440 mW remaining capacity: 59214 mWh present voltage: 16672 mV
Your battery/bios reports a really low present rate. As you say only in the first time. This is a hardware/bios problem. Other machines say "unknown" since they know well values. Powersave/KPowersave can't know anything about this. If you now calculate the time 59200 mWh/4440 mW you get 13,3 hours ;) Thanks for the information, I close the bug now
