MP3 encoding not available in KDE under 64bit
Last modified: 2005-09-21 19:57:22 UTC
When running KDE under a AMD 64bit SuSE Pro 9.3, CD audio tracks cannot be encoded to MP3 even with the official Lame package installed. The same configuration works on a 32bit system however. Apparently KDE does not detect that Lame is installed on the 64bit installation and thus doesn't offer MP3 under the audiocd:/ IO slave.
from configure output: checking for lame library and header... incs=/usr/include libs=/usr/lib64 apparently the explanation is not that simple.. no 64bit box here to test though.
I'm afraid we won't support you here
