Klick on panel with the right mouse.
choose Configure Panel.
After one minute the configuration windows is shown.
That´s to long.
And you can see the clock icon only if the mouse cursor is over the panel.
HW HP Omnibook 6100, 1 GHz, 768 MB RAM

Can't reproduce, probably fontconfig problem or something, and the bugreport is quite old. If you can still reproduce with something newer, please reopen.
