1. Insert the SUSE Linux Professional 10.0 CD1 CD-ROM. Reboot the machine. 2. Select the "Installation" option. 3. Select the F2 option to select Japanese. 4. After the options have been checked hit Enter. 5. Follow defaults until the Network Configuration screen. 6. Click the "Network Interfaces" hyperlink. 7. Press the "Change" button on the 'Network Cards Configuration' window. 8. Click "Edit" to the resultant 'Overview' dialog. This produces the 'Network Address Setup' window. 9. Select the "Static Address Setup" radio button. Input a relevant "IP Address" (xxx.x.xx.xxx) and "Subnet Mask" (xxx.xxx.xxx.x). 10. Press the "Host Name and Name Server" button. Enter a relevant machine name into the "Host Name" field. The "Domain Name" field must be populated with the network domain information of the current location e.g. xxx.xxxxxxx.ie. Input the primary and secondary DNS information into the "Name Server 1" and "Name Server 2" fields respectively. The "Domain Search" fields must be populated with the network domain information. Click "Ok". 11. Press the "Routing" button on the 'Network Address Setup' window. Populate the "Default Gateway" field with the required data. Press "Ok". 12. Click "Next". 13. Press "Next" to the resultant 'Network Cards Configuration Overview' window. 14. Press "Next". The network configuration data is saved. Expected result: as the data is saved a column of check marks should appear at the left of the main panel. Actual result: only a column of corrupt character boxes appears
Configuration: Suse 10 Build: Beta3 050826
Corrupt characters appearing reassigning to yast2-maintainers
Looks like yet another case of missing Unicode glyphs in some font, or the respective font was not available. Mike, any clue?
