Corrupted characters appearing in Reinitialise dialog in SUMF

SUSE10
Beta2 050826

Steps:
1. Click on the SUSE icon on the bottom left of the screen.
2. Browse to  "System/Configuration/SUMF.
3.Click Yes to 'Initialize SCPM' dialog that may appear. 
4.Select 'SCPM'menu and click 'Reinitialise'

Expected Result:
No Character corruption

Actual Result:
Corrupted chaarcters in dialog.
There is chaarcter corruption in title bar for all menu dialogs in SUMF.
There is also corruption in dilaogs for Profiles/Add and Help/About

These appear fine in our resources in sumf\sumf.zh_xx.po. May not have made it
into the build. Please regress in Beta5/RC1.

This looks like a character issue alright. All of our files are UTF-8 encoded.
It looks like sumf can't handle them. Re-assinging to packager.

UTF8 handling in SUMF is broken.
