Doubleclick Timeout option in the GNOME mouse preferences dialog can be set to a
negative value by dragging the slider to the left. It should stop at some sane
value.

yes, patch hasn't been committed yet nor added to our packages

This is upstream in gnome-control-center 2.12.1 (to be released)
