Bugzilla – Bug 113838
Fonts look chubby
Last modified: 2005-09-22 16:19:55 UTC
I installed FreeType2 and enabled the bytecode interpreter for hints. I set the propert DPI settings on SAX2 and on the Gnome Control Center to be 124 dots per inch, to match my ThinkPad T42p 14.1" screen at 1400x1050 resolution. The rendering of fonts is very chubby, every font looks bold, for instance the attached screenshot shows a 9point font being rendered. I tried all settings in the Gnome Control Center for fonts, it always looks chubby.
Created attachment 47988 [details] A chubby set of fonts.
