Bugzilla – Bug 114087
X crashes after switching back to X from terminal
Last modified: 2006-03-16 21:53:02 UTC
If I switch to the terminal there is no problem. At the moment I'm switching back X crashes and kdm starts again... Used Graphicboard (taken from lspci): 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. S3 Unichrome Pro VGA Adapter (rev 01) I also tested starting pure X in runlevel 3, see attached strace output.

Fixed with Beta4.
This still happens on my install of SuSE 10.0 Final. Switching to terminal 1 to monitor boot messages is successful and after that I can switch to other text terminals (alt+arrow keys). But when I tryi to switch back using ctrl+alt+F7 the machine hangs completely and needs to be reset. 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)] using ATI 8.23.7-x86_64 drivers on a Gigabyte K8N Pro-SLI motherboard running the 2.6.13-15.8-default x86_64 kernel.
