Description Wilken Gottwalt 2005-08-30 12:01:19 UTC
The pcmcia modem MC221 Discovery V.90 (Data/Fax) don't get recognized by Yast or
by hwinfo. It even makes a Dell Inspiron 8200 hang if plugged in and makes it
hard reboot if plugged out.

SL9.3 recognizes it as [see log], and it seems to work under SL9.3.

There is bug 113336 about ltmodem support dropped in 10.0.
Comment 3 Wilken Gottwalt 2005-08-30 12:37:46 UTC
So it isn't supported anymore?
Comment 4 Steffen Winterfeldt 2005-08-30 12:45:43 UTC
seems so
Comment 5 Wilken Gottwalt 2005-08-30 12:53:46 UTC
So we are going to tell the customers: No, you can't use your modem anymore,
just throw it away!?

This is not really a solution, I got a bunch of different cards here, which are
ltmodems... There are also notebooks which got them as an internal version...
Comment 6 Christian Zoz 2005-09-06 14:28:06 UTC
If you had looked more closely, you had seen that the device is not detected at
all. I mean the PCI device itself, not the modem behind it. No PCI event. Same
on three different laptops where other cardbus cards work flawlessly.
