Default fonts on iBook are gigantic

The default font definitions on a base KDE instalation are gigantic. Applications menus, desktop, etc. Firefox as it more serious because I don't seem to be able to reduce them.
Hm, a problem with the detection of the monitor and it's resolution? Olaf, is this your working area or should Marcus do the job?
attach the hwinfo output. Use sax2 to adjust the X and Y dimensions of your display.

In sax2, the display was set to 12 inches, I changed it to 12.1 inches. What are the values for X and Y? Mine are X:246, Y:184.
X cares only about Displaysize X Y (in /etc/X11/xorg.conf). I assume that is a fresh install.

Yes, it's a fresh install. After forcing the values to 250x180, fonts are still to big.
ok, that part of X looks sane. Can you attach a full screenshot to demonstrate the problem? We have not seen it. ksnapshot can be used, there is likely also a gnome tool. Attach also the rpm -qa | sort output.

Also, I see that beta 4 is out. Should I upgrade to see if this issue is still present, or stick with beta 3 to help you out?
I'm currently installing beta3 again on a powerbook. Can you also attach the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log before you update? beta4 will likely be very slow to download, but an upgrade would certainly not hurt.

I'm downloading the beta 4 torrent right now... Then I'll have to buy cds... 5 CDs per beta isn't a very good thing. And I have no idea how to turn the 5 cds into 1 DVD. The HOW-TOs only refer to i386.
ok, thanks for the logs. I configured my powerbook g3 the same, and the font size increased because X does know know the physical dimensions of the display. It can calculate the 'dpi' correctly and render fonts correctly. My KDE clock and desktop icon names look similar to yours. I personally dont find they are too huge or "gigantic". Are you able to adjust the fontsize in the KDE control center?
Yes I can. The problem is that Firefox, for example, doesn't seem to care about me changing the fonts. I guess it should (qt-engines, or something like that), but the menus still use the default font size.
Oh, and "gigantic" is, maybe, a bit of a exageration. Sorry about that.
Ok, I guess I know what is happening. Defaul SuSE instalation is ok. Font sizes are a little big. When I choose another theme, like Plastik, for example, fonts change. Also I lose some icons: SuSE, Firefox, My Computer...
