xfce4 startup messages: *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
Last modified: 2006-03-04 10:39:13 UTC
starting X11 with xfce4 window/desktop manager, I get the message *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice 552 times at startup. I found that string in /usr/lib/libart_lgpl_2.so.2. does anyone know what's the problem with this libart_lgpl_2 (or with xfce4) ?
libart_lgpl_2 hasn't been updated since 9.3, only xfce has. Moving to the xfce maintainer.
new maintainer
could you provide me some information about how to reproduce it? I tried it on suse 10.0 (final) without any xfce config and bug did not occure
I cannot reproduce it. Resolving as WONTFIX
Ok. I have some information. I'm using Suse 10.0 and installed the Xfce 4.2. The default config is not inculde the xfce-menu on taskban. I tryed to setting on, but the panel was crashed. If I'm started the panel again (in xterm), then drop this lines (after I'm tring setting on the menu again): "*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice" .. "*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x083a8d38 ***"
I reproduced it. Thank for your comment. Reopening this bug. P.S. xfce-panel did not crash for me, but i get error messeges
I track this bug and it should be fixed in 10.1, could you please check this. I can build packages for 10.0 for you if you can`t test beta :)
I can't check 10.1 (yet), but if you make thats packages for 10.0 then I will check it. P.S.: Sorry for my english. :)
Packages are here: http://beta.suse.com/private/pnemec/ I ziped it in one 7MB package. I hope you would not mind it. Message complaining about "*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice *** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice" should be still present. But xfce4-panel should not crashed.
It's looking good! Resolved..thx!
