Bugzilla – Bug 115075
Software-selection after switch from upgrade to new install is wrong
Last modified: 2005-09-26 11:16:34 UTC
First, I selected the upgrade option, then the installer analyzed what packages to update. OK so far. Then I decided to create a new installation (for upgrade the partition was too small) by pressing the "back" button and to select new installation. (all OK so far) The problem now is that the software selection is not re-created, packages are still marked for upgrade instead of new installation. How to reproduce: 1. choose to update an existing installation 2. choose the installation to upgrade (then the already installed packages are analyzed) 3. press "back" button to go back to the screen for update/installation 4. choose to do a new installation --> the software selection is still for update, not for new install. This is a minor bug. Reboot is a workaround.
Please, provide YaST logs from the installation if you can. http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST Thanks
Sorry, the installation log you are interested in is not available, because with this bug I restarted the system to directly perform a "new installation" (and this log would not be very helpful I think) At the time of the error, where should yast write the log to? It is BEFORE the start of the installation, at a time where partitioning/formatting is not yet done. I hope you can reproduce the error. Otherwise let me know, then I can try to reproduce it in a week with the next Beta-version.
An installation workflow issue. (close InstTarget, reset Pkg/Selection Managers, reopen Target after disks are formated..., if this is supposed to be supported at all)
Closint the target was missing. Fixed in SVN for 10.1.
