Bugzilla – Bug 115118
IEEE 1394 Firewire Bus Hostcontroller over PCMCIA not installed
Last modified: 2005-09-15 15:53:24 UTC
HW: HO Omnibook 6100, 1 GHz, 768 MB RAM. Vivanco Cardbus Firewire Kit Item 12276 (3 sockets) The hostcontroller was plugged during the installation but no information was shown about it. In hwconfig the hostcontroller can be found but it is´nt working. In YaSt2 I could´nt found any function to install the controller later. On W2k the card is installed like a NEC OHCI-concurring IEEE-1394 host controller.

It seems I got this bug by mistake. Olaf, please take care about it.
are you saying there are firewire devices connected to this card but they do not appear in dmesg (because they are not recognized)?
please try ftp.suse.com/pub/people/olh/kernel/bug115118/
Yes, the dvd burner was connected but I could'nt found it. After installing kernel-default-2.6.13-20050905_bug115118.i586.rpm and the other the dvd rom is accessible and the burner is working. Is this bugfix in the next kernel from RC1?
thanks for testing.
was applied to final kernel.
