Description Martin Schröder 2019-09-22 20:47:19 UTC
The OS list in the drop down is severely outdated and does not even contain any Leap distribution (but one can still submit bugs for Windows 3.1).
Comment 1 Alynx Zhou 2019-09-23 01:56:23 UTC
For some reason Leap is called openSUSE Distribution in this list and I think there are docs for it. Thanks.
Comment 2 Martin Schröder 2019-09-23 05:15:33 UTC
Excuse me? I'm talking about the OS selector. The source calls this "op_sys". I've set it to Windows 3.1 for this bug.

That has no entries for 15.0 and 15.1.

Btw: There have been releases of RHEL after 6.1.
Comment 3 Alynx Zhou 2019-09-23 05:49:22 UTC
Sorry, but if you want to submit bugs for specific version of Leap, you should choose Product as openSUSE Distribution and then you can find Leap 12 to Leap 15 in **Version** selector like what I do now for this bug as a example.
I think this is the correct way for submitting bugs for Leap, if you still has any problem please write comment.
Comment 4 Alynx Zhou 2019-09-23 05:53:35 UTC
I am not sure what `op_sys` is being used, but I think it is not used for submitting bugs for Leap, because if you select `openSUSE Distribution` it will ask you for version and component directly.
I suggest you to use this way, because it is a more detailed selector than using `op_sys`, which only sets a version.

I think you still don't know what I'm talking about.

If you scroll up, you will see selectors for Hardware - and right beside that an unlabeled selector for the OS (currently set to Windows 3.1). It's the latter selector this bug is about.

And for me *this* form is the main entrance into bugzilla, because it is e.g. linked from project pages.

Hi Tomas, if you have time please have a look at this bug, I think it looks like https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1094790, but Martin still say I did not understand him.

Could you help me on this? Thanks!
Comment 7 Tomáš Chvátal 2020-05-15 12:04:51 UTC
I am not tied to bugzilla product, so I am quite without chance to do anything about this.
Comment 8 Bernhard Wiedemann 2020-05-25 18:36:38 UTC
Indeed parts of that OS selection is outdated, but it has
SLES 15
Red Hat 9
Windows 10

so someone has been updating parts of it.
I dont think we actually use that data much,
so maybe trimming it down would be the better path forward.

E.g. OS
openSUSE + SLE
other Linux
non-Linux

Assign it to IT team to see whether fix it or not.

Hi Martin, please feel free to reassign whenever necessary, thanks.
Comment 10 Vladimir Siman 2022-01-21 07:28:25 UTC
Any idea who can supply the updated list of what should be seen there ?
Once I have it, I am able to update it, thx !

Does anybody at Suse actually care about this?
