Description Jakub Friedl 2005-09-07 08:59:10 UTC
In GNOME, if the gnome-screensaver is set to lock screen, a user cannot
deactivate the screensaver - when moving a mouse or typing on a keyboard, only a
cursor blinks on the screen byt nothing more happens. I had to kill
gnome-screensaver from text console to get back into my gnome session.

Working here, but we also have another report of this somewhere. By chance you
don't have both gnome-screensaver and xscreensaver running do you?
Comment 2 Jakub Friedl 2005-09-07 11:28:51 UTC
no i do not have xscreensaver running
Comment 3 JP Rosevear 2005-09-07 12:03:14 UTC
Oops, meant to reassign, not resolve.
Comment 4 Jakub Friedl 2005-09-07 12:17:38 UTC
i have tried it on a second machine, the problem doesnt occur there. the second
machine (where it works) is freshly installed standard GNOME system (no manual
changes in the software selection). The first one is also a freshly installed
system, but much larger instalation - including complete KDE and other pckage
selections.
Comment 5 Rodrigo Moya 2005-09-08 07:02:28 UTC
The second machine is probably running gnome-screensaver, right? If so, that
might be a duplicate of bug #114729
Comment 6 Jakub Friedl 2005-09-08 09:19:44 UTC
both are running GNOME and gnome-screensaver. the second one has more packages
installed (including kde) though
Comment 7 JP Rosevear 2005-09-09 23:27:00 UTC
Yes, looks like a duplicate of 114729.

Comment 8 Jakub Friedl 2005-09-13 13:04:25 UTC
probably not a duplicate, because the bug is still present in RC2
Comment 9 JP Rosevear 2005-09-13 13:38:13 UTC
The complete fix did not make RC2. If you are using kdm on both machines it is
a duplicate.
