Bugzilla – Bug 115571
Problems viewing jpegs in konqueror
Last modified: 2005-09-07 15:29:50 UTC
When viewing jpegs, konqueror sometimes completely stops displaying pictures. This only happens if you look at the pictures with "gwenview" (the default), the internal viewer is not affected. Here's how to reproduce this: -Create a big picture in GIMP. I got 4200x3000 pixels. -Render some plasma so the picture cannot be compressed to a few kB. -Save it as .jpg. Important: You must safe it in "progressive" mode! Now load the picture in konqueror. When the first part of the image starts appearing, immediately(!) press the "back" button. Now try to open another picture. On my system, this reproducably shows nothing for the second picture (checked by Adrian Schroeter). Switch to internal viewer-> works. Close konqueror and start another one-> doesn't work. Start a new konqueror from an xterm-> gwenview works again. I don't know if this is specific to progressive jpegs or if this is a general bug that is just easier to trigger with that kind of picture. But I think that it is a bug in the communication between gwenview and konqueror, because gwenview itself has no problems with progressive jpegs.
Lubos, any idea? known?
I can reproduce it at least (had it while watching these strange galleries produced by the konqueror plugins). Somehow gwenview part gets stuck
