Last modified: 2006-05-03 11:03:46 UTC
Sata disk on ICH5 in native mode not found Hardware: Mainboard Tyan 2676 with ICH5 in native mode DVD-ROM is Primary Master Harddisk on first Sata port Disk on 3ware controller = /dev/sda DVD = /dev/hda Sata disk is not seen in SL10RC1 If I switch ICH5 to compatible mode in BIOS: DVD = /dev/sr0 Disk = /dev/sdb Disk on 3ware controller = /dev/sda Question: is native mode supported for ICH5 at all?
Please be more verbose. When does this happen? During the installation, after the installation? Attach the appropriate logfiles and messages please.

It happens already during installation (see above logs). Originally I found the problem in a installed system: when I added said Sata disk. In native mode it wouldn't show up. After switching to compatible mode, it showed up. Do you need logs in compatible mode, too?
this is to remove needinfo
