Description Joe Crollard 2005-09-09 21:41:53 UTC
I think it would be a nice feature, if a program *like* knemo...or mandrake's
internet monitor tool was installed by default, and put in the system tray.
It's just a convenience to be able to see if your internet is working ok, or is
having problems..or whatever...by just looking in your system tray. It would
also be nice for people migrating from windows, who are use to that little icon
to know that they're connected.

Just a suggestion!

what about ksysguard or kinternet?
Comment 3 Joe Crollard 2005-09-12 18:51:54 UTC
Well, I could never figure out kinternet. It never has my eth0 interface it
seems, and will never do anything (could be my fault). It seems that you have
to know about it to find it (for a newbie). It's confusing..for me I guess. And
isn't ksysgaurd for processes?

I simply mean something, installed by default and put into your system tray...
to indicate that your internet is getting activity...and is connected. Much
like the programs I showed above (or more familiar to some..the little blinking
lights on windows ;) ). It just seems like something that someone may look
for...especially if having internet timeouts and such.

Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED.

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
