Description Jiri Polacek 2005-09-13 11:46:08 UTC
Communication between my computer with SUSE 10.0 RC1 and my Pocket PC FSC Loox
718 using synce (synce.sourceforge.net) software supplied as RPM with this
version of SUSE (synce version is 0.9.0-6).
I've checked HOWTO on http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/howto.php and
everythink looks OK prior the section 6. Establishling a connection seems to
be OK:

# synce-serial-start
Serial connection established.
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyUSB0
local IP address 192.168.131.102
remote IP address 192.168.131.201
Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 17700), status = 0x0

But running command pstatus as a user:

> pstatus
pstatus: Unable to initialize RAPI: An unspecified failure has occurred

After that synce-serial-start ended:

LCP terminated by peer
Connect time 0.9 minutes.
Sent 0 bytes, received 1951 bytes.
Script /etc/ppp/ip-down finished (pid 17883), status = 0x0
Connection terminated.
Modem hangup

synce-serial-start was unable to start the PPP daemon!

On the same computer with Suse 9.1 (and patched kernel) is communication
working well. I have tried to patch kernel in SUSE 10.0 RC1 too, but it was
not necessary.
