Description Roland Kaeser 2005-09-13 13:34:38 UTC
When trying to sync a cellphone via IRMC/Bluetooth with the KDE Addressbook
through the Multisync plugins. Multisync correctly converts the cellphones
charset to UTF-8 for the KDE Addressbook. But when syncing back to the
cellphone, all german special characters such as ae oe ue (äöü) are not
correctly converted back. It rater saves the utf-8 characters from the KDE
Addressbook straight back to the cellphone without any conversation.
NOTE: A sync tool to let the users synchronize their computers/PIM's
(Kontact/Evolution) with thier cell phones/smart phones/handhelds is VERY
important in my business area which is banking/fx trading. Its is one of the
major functions they expect from a desktop system. PLEASE do much more attention
in getting this stable working and make a user friendly documentation.

We will shortly switch to OpenSync, successor of Multisync, which is much more comfortable. The bug is fixed there. A backport for multisync is not planned.
