Description Hans-Peter Jansen 2005-09-13 21:39:28 UTC
After adding a few icons below the default generated ones on the left,
changing the desktop font and relogin to KDE, I found some icons moved to the
topmost/leftmost position. This happened at least 3 times here and is quite
annoying.
Comment 1 Dirk Mueller 2005-09-14 06:16:42 UTC
did you change the desktop font each time or just once and since then the
icons move around?

kdesktop moving around icons is one of the longest standing bugs on
bugs.kde.org - and I doubt we will fix it before KDE4 hits the streets. This
code is just horrible as it tries to do too many things at once.

Understood (I took a look once, and was quite annoyed by being unable to locate a grip on it..)

@Dirk: just once, and the movement of icons can be work arounded by toggling the adjust at grid (?) option (and keeping it enabled) after moving/adding icons to the desktop..

ok, we can't fix that desktop icons moving bug for KDE3 - but I will play around with making "align to grid" default. Also to fix #146463
