For us to be able to boot a 16P system it is necessary for us to apply a patch
from Andi Kleen.

I can't find the exact thread that discusses this issue. It was a wide ranging
discussion across many mailing lists (discuss@x86-64.org, linuxbios, lkml)

Andi, since this patch comes from you and is x86_64 specific, should I commit
this to the SP3 branch?
