Bugzilla – Bug 117266
kbluetoothd not started automatically on adapter plugin
Last modified: 2005-09-30 08:30:48 UTC
After starting bluetooth services manually (see bug #99245) and plugging in the bluetooth usb dongle, kbluetoothd does not start automatically like it should IIUC.
kbluetoothd should start with kde and not when the adapter is plugged in. When the adapter is not detected, it will show a grayed odd looking K icon (oval like the B icon in windows), and when the adapter is plugged in and is detected, the icon should turn blue. When something connects, the K turns from white to green. I've noticed that my kbluetoothd tends to malfunction and leaves a blank space in the tray where the icon should be. If this is what you are possibly experiencing, you will see kbluetoothd in "ps aux" (it shows twice for me).
after removing the configfile of suseplugger and restarting suseplugger, this seems to work now. It does not exit automatically if i unplug the adapter, but i am not sure if it is supposed to.
