Bugzilla – Bug 117328
OpenOffice Calc doesn't work with CSV files as it should
Last modified: 2005-10-18 00:17:37 UTC
If I open a csv file in OOo calc, it doesn't show it properly. It also does not allow scrolling (not sure if this is csv specific - I've only used csv files so far). If I open the file with Gnumeric, it is how it should be. I will attach a couple sample csv files.
Created attachment 50071 [details] CSV output from Novell's TSATEST.NLM
Created attachment 50073 [details] CSV output from Novell's SEG.NLM (better to show problem)
This works fine with out any issues and opens up as same as its opened in gnumeric. There might be a possiblilty that you might have missed checking the checkbox associating to appropriate separators. Just check if checkbox for comma separator was checked.
You're right - I didn't see the checkbox. It works with that checked. However, I think the comma box should be checked by default when opening a csv file, because csv stands for Comma Separated Value.
Resolving the bug as works for me and closing it.
