Description Dusan Peterc 2005-09-16 19:45:14 UTC
OpenMotif runtime library was installed by default
in all versions of SUSE 8.0 ... 9.3
In 10.0, it is not.
It greatly simplifies installation of third party commercial applications
(many of which are written using Motif library), if OpenMotif is installed
by default, as it was up to now.
Some applications, which use OpenMotif:
ddd
nedit
A longer list here: http://www.lesstif.org/apps.html

And some commercial:
Mathematica from Worlfram Research
Maya from Alias Wavefront
ArahWeave from Arahne http://www.arahne.si/
Comment 1 Stefan Dirsch 2005-09-19 10:13:29 UTC
- heavy changes based on a proposal by adrian:
  [...]
  KDE-DESKTOP: [...], removed openmotif

Comment 2 Andreas Jaeger 2005-09-19 10:14:22 UTC
ddd and nedit are not part of the default installation, so no need to install
openmotif by default.
