Description Per Jessen 2005-09-19 06:47:47 UTC
When in window mode with KDE, I cannot swap to textmode using e.g. Ctrl-Alt-F1.
Comment 1 Dirk Mueller 2005-09-19 11:22:09 UTC
what is window mode?

Comment 2 Per Jessen 2005-09-19 11:58:55 UTC
Just normal KDE in pseudo terminal 7.
Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2005-09-19 14:00:33 UTC
can't reproduce.. do you use the nvidia binary drivers? I remember they block
this somehow.

anyway, this is more a x server issue, not something KDE influences, CC'ing
egbert. couldn't find out Matthias Hopf's bugzilla account.

The graphics card is an on-board ATI Radeon 9100 IGP. I'll check the behaviour
in a different system too. Update to follow.

Tried another box with an ATI 3D Rage Pro - Ctrl-Alt-Fx works fine here. The
failing system is an ASUS Pundit-R with the ATIIXP chipset.
Comment 6 Stephan Kulow 2005-09-26 08:33:48 UTC
and you sure didn't disable that in Xorg.conf?
Comment 7 Per Jessen 2005-09-26 08:50:00 UTC
Nope, I haven't touched Xorg.conf. To be honest, I wouldn't know how.
Comment 8 Per Jessen 2005-09-26 08:59:01 UTC
Uh, I have just now tried that system again - no problem any more. Apologies, I
don't know why or how it has disappeared.
Comment 9 Stefan Dirsch 2005-09-26 09:58:19 UTC
Closing as WORKSFORME therefore.
