After updating mozilla-nss to 3.58-1.1 at 2020-11-25, I could not connect to xmpp/irc servers via SSL/TLS encrypted connections with the following error in the debug logs:

nss: Handshake failed  (-12251)

According to

it seems to be a upstream problem with mozilla-nss 3.58

After updating the sources to nss-3.59 and rebuilding/installing the package, the problem was gone.

Typically we try to keep NSS and Firefox closely aligned but in this case I'm going to update to NSS 3.59 in TW before FF84 (which is due in two weeks).
