[feature-request] Please add graphical FTP server to Yast
Last modified: 2007-04-26 08:31:56 UTC
FTP Server is a very important server. The vsftp package (FTP Server) exists in the SuSE Linux 10.0 but it can be configured only via command-line, and therefore unusable by Linux noobs & Windows Server admins, but for 10.1 this *must* be changed. Please add a graphical FTP Server configuration to SuSE 10.1 Yast Control Center, with at least basic functionality such as: status (on/off), then r/w or r/o mode, then which directory(/ies) must be shared...
New feature requested.
Let's see what can be done in future.
Reopening for reassign.
please do this for 10.3 - SUSE has seen no new Yast modules since the 9.x era (except AppArmor). I believe it is time to revise the stuff.
Yeah, an ftp serve rmodule using vsftpd will be very nice ;)
re-added FATE number that was (accidently?) lost
So, how this module is progressing ?
We are starting its development, you can expect it in 10.3. Can't say in which alpha snapshot ATM.

People, this FTP module is really important ! Is there anything to move this ?
Ohh, OK ! I'm glad this is done ! Keep up the good work !
The first version (2.15.1) is in openSUSE10.3 Alpha3. Next version of Alpha will be include next version of ftp-server (2.15.2) where was fixed some errors.
