Bugzilla – Bug 1180508
jeos image does not boot on nanopi neo air
Last modified: 2022-02-11 12:09:57 UTC
Booting the current JeOS image http://download.opensuse.org/ports/armv7hl/distribution/leap/15.2/appliances/openSUSE-Leap-15.2-ARM-JeOS-nanopineo.armv7l-2020.07.08-Build1.71.raw.xz on my Nano Pi Neo Air does not work. After loading kernel+initrd, it grinds to a halt: Booting `openSUSE Leap 15.2' Loading Linux 5.3.18-lp152.47-lpae ... Loading initial ramdisk ... EFI stub: Booting Linux Kernel... EFI stub: Using DTB from configuration table EFI stub: Exiting boot services and installing virtual address map... EHCI failed to shut down host controller. After this, nothing happens except the CPU goes very hot, too hot to hold your finger on for more than a few seconds.
According to the description, the problem seems to happen before starting the YaST installer. Maybe Kernel guys could have any idea about this. Re-assigning to Kernel component. Thanks!
Can you try to pass the "earlycon" parameter to the kernel (editing it in the grub menu). This should give you more output and hopefully a clue whats going on.
No response. Closing. Feel free to reopen if the issue persists with Leap 15.3.
