Description jerry hodson 2005-09-21 01:56:05 UTC
UPgrade 9.1 to 10.0
(doa on LILO, submitted as append to other persons bug)
this bug, USB mouse dead. after installation,
model: "microsoft Wheel mouse opitcal 1.1a, usb an dps/2 compatible"

install ended and mouse is dead. (it was working in 9.1 , most likely forced 1
year ago )

I tried i , and booted each time using the 6 ports on the MOBO,
I tried it using the 4 free ports on my usb1 hub.
all the other USB devices all work even the thumbdrive cruiser.

I got it to work by entering yast and clicking mouse then selecting USB then on the
right panel .selecting the first mouse ,bla bla, USB entry.
test, ok
save , ok
reboot , perfect.

this is K7 , semperon 2200 system , nivida chip , chaintec 7NJL3 mobo,
a different system than my other postings.
System is 0 IDE HDD and 3 Scsi 3 HDD. 512mb memory. GF4 Ti,4200 video.

I noticed vast improvement in the USB system compared to 9.1. which has USB
50% dead each boot. So the loss of on the mouse is not that big of a deal to me.

After the above , mouse is 100% reliable.
thanks Open Suse team and members !

Marcus, this sounds to be for you (or for hardware detection...)
