VUL-0: CVE-2021-38094: ffmpeg: Integer Overflow vulnerability in function filter_sobel in libavfilter/vf_convolution.c
Last modified: 2023-01-02 14:23:48 UTC
CVE-2021-38094 Integer Overflow vulnerability in function filter_sobel in libavfilter/vf_convolution.c in Ffmpeg 4.2.1, allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service or other unspecified impacts. References: http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2021-38094 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2021-38094 https://git.ffmpeg.org/gitweb/ffmpeg.git/commit/99f8d32129dd233d4eb2efa44678a0bc44869f23 https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/8263
The 'suma' and 'sumb' calculation looks a bit different on 3.4.2. The interface of filter16_prewitt changed as well, so it is bit unclear if our version is really affected. From the general point of view, the used integer could have exactly the same problem as upstream and we should consider to move to float here.
