As far as I can see, it would be a major speed jump for G4, if we could use
these optimalisations from
http://freevec.org/ . Glibc and some db libs are compiled seperately for
i686 on the PC as well.
Alpha1 comes tomorrow, so it's probably too late for that one, but would
be a nice addition for Alpha2.
