Description Philippe Delval 2005-09-28 21:03:35 UTC
Novell Linux Client is not working with Suse 10 RC1.
I know this is 'normal' for library dependencies reasons, but would we have to
wait for Novell releasing a new version of the NCL for every SUSE/NLD version?
What about other linux versions?
Details about this 'bug' availables on demand.

Thanks.

Philippe Delval.

Hi,

I've applied the above suggestion with same result (I was allready use the same
trick copying the old libbfd in the /usr/lib directory)
Maybe it's related only to the Suse 10 OSS version?
I've reported my problems to the author of the article.
Here's an extract:

"I'm using SUSE 10 RC1 OSS and I was waiting for this article
but no chance for me: I have this error when clicking the context
button: "Can't access the abc tree" in file frmContextImpl.cpp"
Tree and server buttons functionnality is OK
When validating the dialog after entering the required information, it
gives an error:
"Can't connect to server[ABC]" Error:NWCCOpenConnByName
Code : FFFFFFFFC7FD0015
Build : 1.0.0
File : ncpConnection2.cpp
Line : 167
Repository Version : $Revision: 1.11 $

As stated in the article, this solution is a hack and you are on your own. This
is in no way supported by Novell.

Hi Joe,

Finally I've uninstalled the client (ncl_install uninstall), reinstalled
binhack-1-1.i586.rpm and rebooted the machine. Later I've reinstalled the client
(ncl_install install) and restarted my session, and now it'all working...
Thanks for your help.
