During update, YaST can break quoting in lilo.conf, for details, see bug 
117642. It has been fixed for modifying LILO configuratino in installed 
system, but it cannot be fixed for update (as the bug is burnt on CDs).

During the update, &yast; can break the quoting in
<filename>/etc/lilo.conf</filename>.  Add quotes in the append lines as
follows:</para>

After installing the fixed package that is available via YaST Online Update
(YOU), the problem does not occur if you modify the LILO configuration in
the installed system.  The defect cannot be fixed for the update, because
the bug is in the version burned on the installation media.
